Our Wedding | ||||||||||||||||
| I met Trish my junior year at Hyde Park (1991). She came into the classroom for the first time, I looked up and saw her in her bright red suit, looked at her deep brown eyes, and knew that she was special. After we met and began going places together, I realized that I had found my other half -- the one whom my heart loves. For the longest time, we were just friends -- we didn't realize that we were dating -- until one day someone asked us how long we had been dating, and we didn't know. | |||||||||||||||
Bryan and I were at the movie theater, getting snacks for the movie, and he put his chin on my shoulder while standing behind me. The warmth from his body and feeling his chin on my shoulder sent chills up and down my spine. The very next day, he did it again during Mrs. Whipple's (our junior year english teacher) class. Melanie said, "Trish, are you two dating?" I said, "No, we're just friends." What a liar I was. The fact was that we were friends, but not just friends; we were best friends -- soul mates. |

Our Engagement |
We were in Baytown at a craft show and doing some Christmas Shopping. Trish had spent a lot of time looking for the perfect wedding ring, but she hadn't found anything that she really liked until that weekend. I bought that ring for her, without her knowing, intending to wait a few days to give it to her -- but I couldn't wait. I was so excited that I couldn't help myself; on our way out of town, I saw the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have stopped, but there was a beautiful tree out front, and a stage. I pulled up to it, got Trish out of the car, escorted her to the stage, and asked her, "Would you..." She interrupted before I could complete the question, but I didn't mind because she gave me the right answer. | |||||||||||||||
